ABOUT THE COMPETITION
Each week for 4 weeks, a rowing workout for the Concept 2 Erg will be announced on Thursday. You’ll have until the following Monday to complete the workout and submit your score online with a picture of your monitor. At the end of 4 weeks we will crown the Kings & Queens of the rowers.
Cash prizes are awarded to the top 3 male & female rowers in the Open Division for the Standard & Tall Categories. Prizes will be awarded to winning Team and to the winners of each age/height group.
ROW'D ROYALTY HISTORY
Row’d Royalty was born in 2012 in California. Several athletes in our gym claimed to be the “best rower" and were always eager to prove themselves. So, we created "Row'd Royalty", an annual indoor rowing competition spanning 4 weeks and a variety of workouts with the winner crowned "The King & Queen of the Rower".
Row'd Royalty was a huge hit with everyone in my gym, so in 2015, we moved the competition online and introduced Row’d Royalty to the world. Concept 2 joined us as our premiere sponsor and our registration exploded. Today, indoor rowers from around the world participate, including former Olympic Rowing Medalists, Crash B winners and top athletes.
WHY WE ARE UNIQUE: TALL & STANDARD
In my 15 years of indoor rowing and coaching, I have learned that the biggest difference in an athlete's performance on a Concept 2 erg is height, which primarily affects the length of the pull. In order to make our competition more inclusive AND more competitive, we created the "Standard" and "Tall" categories.
Similarly, in 1974 the International Rowing Federation (FISA) added a "Lightweight" class to rowing "to encourage more universality in the sport especially among nations with less statuesque people."

The Team Captain needs to register his or her team and will be the only team member to submit a team score. Team Captains need to submit their Teams scores by the appropriate deadline in addition to their own score.
Each member of the team MUST also register as Individuals. This allows us to validate team total scores.
The Team score is usually the sum of all 4 team members scores, unless otherwise indicated. If any team member does not submit a score or complete a workout the team is disqualified.
